What is through cutting?

Through cutting means the blade cuts completely through all layers of the material, including any backing or liner. The cut piece separates fully from the sheet. This is a through-cut blade. It is not a kiss cut or perforation blade.

Fine grain tungsten carbide construction

The K46r is made from fine grain tungsten carbide. This material holds an edge longer than standard carbide, which matters when you are running corrugated board, honeycomb, or sandwich board. More cuts per shift, cleaner separation at the cut edge, and less time pulling the head to swap blades.

What materials does it cut?

The K46r is rated for corrugated board, foamboard, folding carton, felt, leather, display board, carpet, sandwich board, honeycomb, sandblasting mask, PET acoustic felt, varnish blankets, 3M VHB, Zintra, and Fsorb. If you are cutting thinner or more delicate materials, a different blade geometry may be the better call. Contact us and we can help sort that out.

What does the 45° + 90° cutting angle mean?

How do I know when to replace it?

Watch the cut edge. If the blade is dragging, tearing, or the cut piece is not releasing cleanly, it is time to swap. Do not wait until the blade breaks. A dull carbide blade does more damage to your material and your cut depth settings than a fresh one.
