Summa F1612 Vantage Flatbed Cutting System

Summa logo Authorized Summa Dealer

The full Vantage platform in the smallest footprint.

The F1612 Vantage is the compact model in Summa's F Series Vantage line: a 63" x 47.2" working area that holds a 4' x 4' sheet, 65" media width with a conveyor for roll work, and a 97.7" x 84.2" footprint. It's the only Vantage model with a single-phase power option, so it goes into buildings without 3-phase service with no converter and no electrical upgrade.

Everything else is the same platform as the largest table in the line: 1,000 mm/s (40 ips), acceleration to 1 G, three module positions, Fast+ and Core+ tangential modules, the 3.7 kW router, ultrasonic thickness sensing, and 3D blade calibration. Flatbed Tools sells, installs, trains on, and services the F1612 Vantage, and stocks the blades, router bits, and conveyor belts it runs.

Who the F1612 Vantage Is For

  • Sign shops in a strip-mall bay or a building with single-phase power that want a production flatbed without an electrical project.
  • Print-and-cut floors behind a 64" printer where most of the work comes off the roll and rigid jobs are 4x4 or smaller.
  • Sticker, decal, and label producers running kiss-cut work all day, where tool lifts, not table size, set the pace.
  • Shops adding a second table for flexible work so the big table stays on rigid jobs.
  • Anyone replacing an F1612 4X. Most tangential tools carry over; the modules don't. See the questions below.

If you run full 4x8 sheets, the 47.2" depth will stop you. Look at the F1625 Vantage, which holds a 4x8 and adds tandem workflow.

What the F1612 Vantage Cuts

Flexible media, off the roll or in sheets

Adhesive vinyl for decals, stickers, and labels. Banner and soft signage across long panels with the conveyor. Reflective, protective, and magnetic sheeting, window film, heat transfer.

Rigid sheets up to 4x4

Foam PVC, foamboard, and lightweight composites on the Core+ module. Corrugated board with the corrugated tool. Honeycomb board and reboard with the Power EOT to 16 mm. ACM, acrylic, and MDF with the 3.7 kW router. Half-sheets of 4x8 stock run in one pass; full sheets need the F1625.

Synthetic sheets

Polypropylene, polycarbonate, and PET for signage, sample work, and label backers.

Textiles

Woven polyester, canvas, and technical fabric with the rotary knife module, fed from the roll.

F1612 Vantage Modules and Tools

The F1612 ships with the drag knife module, the camera module, and ADC on both edges. From there you configure it:

  • Fast+ module for vinyl, flexible media, and light board where the file has hundreds of tool lifts. 400 mm/s vertical, 2 G.
  • Core+ module for kiss-cutting, creasing, V-cut, rigid cutout, and oscillating tools. 44 lb of downforce.
  • 3.7 kW HF router at 60,000 RPM for ACM, acrylic, MDF, and aluminum. Or the 1.4 kW standard router for lighter routing work.
  • Rotary knife module for textiles.
  • Tools: kiss-cut, single and double edge cutout, heavy duty cutout to 15 mm, rigid material cutout to 8 mm, high precision cutout, corrugated to 8 mm, V-cut in five angles to 27 mm, bevel, perforating, creasing wheels, Power EOT to 16 mm, POT to 25 mm, POT-L to 42 mm.

F Series modules and tools, with materials and thickness limits

Three module positions means three modules mounted at once. A typical F1612 for a decal and small-format shop runs the drag module, Fast+, and Core+ and never swaps during the day. Add the router only if you route; it's the most over-bought module on a compact table.

Media Handling and Workflow on the F1612

Standard on every F1612: conveyor system, pneumatic media clamps, clamp bar, roll support, vacuum table with automatic zone selection, camera with positioning laser, LED status bar.

Single vacuum row. The F1612 has four zones across the width and no front-to-rear split, so it does not run tandem workflow. For roll work that doesn't matter; the conveyor feeds continuously. For sheet work, one sheet at a time.

Operator Mode. Splits the table into a cutting zone and a safe loading zone with the conveyor moving finished parts forward.

Barcode workflow. OPOS barcodes identify the job and pull the cut file, read by the built-in camera or a hand scanner. Included with GoProduce.

Extension tables. Front, rear, or 50/50 for loading and offloading long sheets.

Optional: Heavy Duty Roll Support for rolls to 440 lb, basket for cut vinyl and waste, oil mister for aluminum.

Summa F1612 Vantage Questions

Does the F1612 Vantage cut a full 4x8 sheet?

No. The working area is 63" x 47.2", which holds a 4' x 4' sheet. Roll media runs to 164 ft with the conveyor. For full 4x8 rigid sheets, the F1625 Vantage has the same 63" width and a 98.4" length.

What does the single-phase option mean in practice?

The F1612 can be built for 240 V single-phase, 30 A, for US installs. No 3-phase service, no rotary converter, and the electrical work is a dedicated 30 A circuit. It's the only F Series Vantage model offered this way. The vacuum pump on the single-phase unit is 1.75 kW.

What is the difference between the F1612 Vantage and the F1612 4X?

Same working area, new platform. The Vantage adds the Fast+ module with double the vertical speed, the ultrasonic thickness sensor, 3D Automatic Device Calibration, module and tool ID recognition, Ethernet motion control, and the 3.7 kW router option in place of the 1.4 kW. Summa's benchmark on the F1625 ran the same files 45% to 90% faster; the F1612 shares the platform.

Can I use tools and modules from my F1612 4X?

Most tangential tools carry over. The 4X tangential modules run on the Vantage at 4X speeds. Router, drag, and rotary modules do not cross over, and the Fast+ module is Vantage-only. Call before you order; the carry-over list changes the quote.

Does the F1612 run tandem workflow?

No. Tandem needs two rows of vacuum zones so one half cuts while the other loads. The F1612 has one row of four. Operator Mode and the conveyor still keep parts moving off the table between jobs.

How much floor space does the F1612 take?

The table is 97.7" wide by 84.2" deep by 42.4" high. With the roll support arm mounted, plan for 108.9" of width and 98.4" of height. Add room at one end for loading and at the other for offloading.

How does it ship?

One crate, 105.5" x 87.8" x 49", 1,920 lb gross. It needs a forklift and a dock or liftgate. We handle delivery, uncrating, placement, and commissioning.
