Summa / F Series Vantage / F3220

Summa F3220 Vantage Flatbed Cutting System

Summa logo Authorized Summa Dealer

The finishing partner for a 3.2 m printer.

The F3220 Vantage is the wide-format model in Summa's F Series Vantage line: 130.7" media width that takes 3.2 m printer output at native size, a 128.5" x 82.7" working area, and a rotary knife module built for textiles, mesh, and banner. The table is shorter front to back than the F3232, which means a shorter walk around it and a smaller footprint for the same width.

It runs the same platform as every Vantage: 1,000 mm/s (40 ips), acceleration to 1 G, three module positions, Fast+ and Core+ tangential modules, the 3.7 kW router for the board work that shows up between textile jobs, ultrasonic thickness sensing, and 3D blade calibration. Flatbed Tools sells, installs, trains on, and services the F3220 Vantage, and stocks the blades, router bits, and conveyor belts it runs.

Who the F3220 Vantage Is For

  • Soft signage producers running 3.2 m dye-sub or UV printers who are cutting banners, flags, and SEG panels by hand or on a table that's too narrow.
  • SEG frame and backlit fabric shops that need a clean silicone-edge cut at full width, every time.
  • Mesh and banner shops where the roll is heavy and the rotary knife is the tool that matters.
  • Shops that run textile most of the day but still get foam PVC, corrugated, and ACM board work, and want one table for both.

If you want one job cutting while the next loads, or you run oversized rigid panels at this width, look at the F3232 Vantage. If 5x10 boards are the main work, the F1832 Vantage does it on a narrower table.

What the F3220 Vantage Cuts

Textiles and soft signage

Woven polyester, backlit and blockout fabrics, SEG media, flags, mesh, and canvas with the rotary knife module. Full 3.2 m width off the roll, with the Heavy Duty Roll Support carrying rolls to 440 lb.

Banner and flexible media

PVC banner, adhesive vinyl, reflective and magnetic sheeting across the full width with the conveyor.

Rigid sheets

Foam PVC, foamboard, and lightweight composites on the Core+ module. Corrugated board with the corrugated tool. Honeycomb and reboard with the Power EOT to 16 mm. ACM, acrylic, and MDF with the 3.7 kW router. A 5x10 board fits crosswise.

Industrial sheet goods

Gasket material, rubber, and foam to 42 mm with the pneumatic oscillating tools.

F3220 Vantage Modules and Tools

The F3220 ships with the drag knife module, the camera module, and ADC on both edges. For textile work the rotary knife module is the one to configure first:

  • Rotary knife module for woven and technical textiles. Decagonal blade, low horizontal force so fabric doesn't shift. Summa rates the Vantage rotary module at twice the speed of the previous generation.
  • Fast+ module for banner, vinyl, and flexible media where the file has hundreds of tool lifts. 400 mm/s vertical, 2 G.
  • Core+ module for kiss-cutting, creasing, V-cut, rigid cutout, and oscillating tools. 44 lb of downforce.
  • 3.7 kW HF router at 60,000 RPM for ACM, acrylic, MDF, and aluminum when board work comes through. Or the 1.4 kW standard router.
  • Tools: kiss-cut, single and double edge cutout, heavy duty cutout to 15 mm, rigid material cutout to 8 mm, high precision cutout, corrugated to 8 mm, V-cut in five angles to 27 mm, bevel, perforating, creasing wheels, Power EOT to 16 mm, POT to 25 mm, POT-L to 42 mm.

F Series modules and tools, with materials and thickness limits

Three module positions means three modules mounted at once. A typical F3220 for a soft signage shop runs the rotary knife, Fast+, and Core+ and keeps the router as the fourth module for board days. We'll build the tooling list with you during the quote.

Media Handling and Workflow on the F3220

Standard on every F3220: conveyor system, pneumatic media clamps, clamp bar, roll support, vacuum table with automatic zone selection, camera with positioning laser, LED status bar.

Roll handling at 3.2 m. The standard roll support carries 110 lb per side, or 220 lb when the roll is carried by both sides. The optional Heavy Duty Roll Support takes rolls to 440 lb, which is what a full 3.2 m textile roll weighs. Material feeds through the conveyor to 164 ft per job.

Single vacuum row. The F3220 has seven zones across the width and no front-to-rear split, so it does not run tandem workflow. For roll-fed textile work the conveyor keeps material moving; for sheet work, one sheet at a time. The F3232 adds the second row.

Operator Mode. Splits the table into a cutting zone and a safe loading zone with the conveyor moving finished parts forward.

Barcode workflow. OPOS barcodes identify the job and pull the cut file, read by the built-in camera or a hand scanner. Included with GoProduce.

Extension tables. Front, rear, or 50/50 for loading and offloading long sheets.

Optional: Heavy Duty Roll Support, oil mister for aluminum.

Summa F3220 Vantage Questions

Does the F3220 Vantage handle 3.2 m printer output?

Yes. Media width is 130.7" (3320 mm), which takes a 3.2 m (126") roll at native width with room to spare. Working area is 128.5" x 82.7" per panel, and the conveyor runs multi-panel jobs to 164 ft.

Does the F3220 run tandem workflow?

No. The F3220 has one row of seven vacuum zones with no front-to-rear split. For roll-fed work the conveyor keeps material moving, so this rarely matters. If you cut sheets and want one job cutting while the next loads, the F3232 has two rows of seven.

Can it cut rigid boards, or is it textile only?

Both. The F3220 takes every F Series module, including the 3.7 kW router. A 5x10 board fits crosswise in the 128.5" x 82.7" working area, and 4x8 fits either way. Most F3220 buyers run textile most of the day and board work between.

How heavy a roll can it feed?

The standard roll support carries 110 lb per side, or 220 lb when both sides share the roll. The optional Heavy Duty Roll Support takes rolls to 440 lb (200 kg). Rolls with flanges are limited to 6.7" diameter and 55 lb.

How much floor space does the F3220 take?

The table is 166" wide by 123" deep by 48" high. Add room at one end for the roll and at the other for offloading, more if you add extension tables. Plan the aisle for the 166" width.

How does it ship?

Four crates, 5,536 lb gross in total. The largest is 181" x 51" x 43". It needs a forklift and a dock or liftgate, and a clear path for a 15-foot crate. We handle delivery, uncrating, placement, and commissioning.

What consumables does the F3220 use?

Rotary blades for the textile module, tangential and drag blades for the other tools, router bits for the standard and HF routers, and a conveyor belt cut to the F3220's width and length. Blades and bits are stocked in Racine, Wisconsin; ask us about belt lead time for this model.
