K511
A direct replacement for the Esko Kongsberg BLD-TZ511 (42448589 / G42448589), with no holder modification needed. Double edge drag and V-cut blade for thru cut and V-cut cutting on Esko and Kongsberg flatbed cutting systems.
Sold individually.
Direct OEM replacement
The K511 matches the Esko Kongsberg BLD-TZ511 (OEM numbers 42448589 and G42448589) in form, fit, and geometry. It seats in the V-Notch tool holder without modification. Compatible with the PowerHead on Kongsberg XL, XN, X, and V models, and the HD/Dual HD unit on C and XP models.
Through cutting and V-cut cutting on rigid board
Through cutting means the blade cuts all the way through every layer of the material. The piece separates fully from the sheet. V-cut cutting is different: the blade removes a V-shaped channel from the material surface without cutting through. That groove becomes a fold line. On rigid boards like corrugated, Gatorfoam, or Coroplast, a precise V-cut lets the panel fold at exactly the right angle without cracking or buckling.
The K511 handles both operations. That makes it a practical choice for display and packaging work where a single job includes cutouts and fold lines on the same panel.
Fine grain tungsten carbide
The K511 is made from fine grain tungsten carbide. The finer the grain structure, the sharper the edge and the longer that edge holds under use. On abrasive materials like corrugated and Gatorfoam, a coarser grade loses its edge faster. Fine grain carbide runs longer before cut quality drops enough to require a swap.
Common questions
How do I know this fits my machine?
The K511 replaces Esko Kongsberg BLD-TZ511 (OEM numbers 42448589 and G42448589). It mounts in the V-Notch tool holder used by the PowerHead on Kongsberg XL, XN, X, and V models and the HD/Dual HD unit on C and XP models. If you are running one of those heads and the BLD-TZ511 is your current blade, this is the replacement. Not sure? Contact us before you order.
What materials does it cut?
The K511 is built for rigid and semi-rigid board materials: corrugated, Xanita Board, Falconboard, Eagle Cell, Re-board, Gatorboard (Gatorfoam), Ultra Board, Coroplast, Eco Board, Honeycomb Board, and Katz Display Board. If you are cutting vinyl, film, or flexible substrates, a different blade geometry will serve you better. Reach out if you are not sure which blade fits your application.
Which Kongsberg head does this blade fit?
The K511 fits two head configurations: the PowerHead used on Kongsberg XL, XN, X, and V models, and the HD/Dual HD unit used on C and XP models. Both use the V-Notch tool holder. If you are not sure which head your machine has, check your machine documentation or contact us.
How do I know when to replace it?
Watch the cut edge. If the blade is dragging rather than cutting cleanly, tearing the material surface, or the fold lines from V-cuts are becoming inconsistent, it is time to swap. On rigid boards, you may also see the blade deflect under pressure. When cut quality changes, replace the blade rather than pushing it further.
Getting the most from your cutting table
A fresh blade is a good start. But if you are going through blades faster than expected, or cut quality has become inconsistent, the blade is rarely the whole story. Cut depth, speed, pressure, and machine condition all affect how long a blade lasts and how clean it cuts.
It is worth asking: When was your machine last serviced? Are your parameters dialed in for this material? Is this the right blade geometry for what you are cutting? Could your operators use time with someone who runs these machines every day?
Flatbed Tools offers machine service, preventive maintenance, operator training, and workflow consulting. If something is not cutting right, reach out. We have probably seen it before.
