What is through cut cutting?
Through cutting means the blade cuts completely through all layers of the material, including any backing or liner. The cut piece separates fully from the sheet. This is different from kiss cutting, where the blade cuts only the face material and leaves the liner intact. The K10s is built for through cut work. It is not a kiss cut blade.
Double edge, flat stock geometry
The K10s uses a flat stock, double edge configuration at 50 degrees. Flat stock blades use the full body of the blade for rigidity, which suits thicker and denser materials in the through cut range. The double edge means both sides of the blade are sharpened, extending usable life and delivering consistent cut quality across the full cut path. Fine grain tungsten carbide construction keeps the edge sharp longer in demanding production environments.

What materials does it cut?
The K10s is suited for through cut work on self adhesive vinyl, polycarbonate, polyester, masking film, window prep vinyl, magnetic media, transfer paper, and 3M VHB. If you are kiss cutting vinyl or working with very thin materials where liner protection matters, a different blade geometry is the better call. Not sure which blade fits your material stack? What does double edge mean, and does it affect how the blade loads?
Double edge means both sides of the blade are sharpened. This extends usable life compared to a single edge. Holder compatibility and loading are the same as the OEM part it replaces. No modification needed for installation.
How do I know when to replace it?
Watch the cut quality, not the clock. When cuts start dragging, tearing, or the material is not releasing cleanly, it is time to swap the blade. A dull blade usually shows up first on tight curves and fine detail work. If the cut is pulling the material instead of slicing through it, the blade is done.
Getting the most from your cutting table
A fresh blade is a good start. But if you are going through blades faster than expected, or cut quality has become inconsistent, the blade is rarely the whole story. Cut depth, speed, pressure, and machine condition all affect how long a blade lasts and how clean it cuts.
It is worth asking: When was your machine last serviced? Are your parameters dialed in for this material? Is this the right blade geometry for what you are cutting? Could your operators use time with someone who runs these machines every day?
