A high-speed steel trapezoid V-cut blade compatible with Zünd, Summa, and Kongsberg flatbed cutting systems. The K73 is a direct replacement for the Zünd Z73 (5005572) and Summa 500-9825, with no blade-holder modification needed when replacing the same blade format.

Compatible with Zünd T75 and VCT tools, Summa F Series V-Cut tools, and compatible Kongsberg XP and C Series V-cut tooling.

Sold in packs of 10.

Direct OEM replacement

The K73 is a drop-in replacement for:

  • Zünd Z73, 5005572
  • Summa 500-9825
  • Compatible Kongsberg XP and C Series V-cut blade applications

The K73 uses the same 0.9 mm flat-stock trapezoid form, mounting-hole pattern, and blade geometry. No holder changes are required when replacing one of these blade formats.

What is V-cutting?

V-cutting creates an angled cut or groove in a material. It is commonly used to produce beveled edges, folding lines, dimensional displays, and clean corners in thick or rigid sheet materials.

Depending on the selected angle and cutting depth, the blade can remove a V-shaped section from the material or cut through it at an angle. The K73 is designed specifically for V-cutting applications.

High-speed steel construction

The K73 is manufactured from high-speed steel, or HSS. HSS provides a strong balance of toughness, edge stability, and value when cutting corrugated board, foam board, acoustic felt, honeycomb-style board, and other rigid materials.

The broad trapezoid design supports the cutting edge during V-cutting, helping the blade maintain a stable cutting angle under load. Its durable HSS construction withstands the changing cutting forces commonly encountered in corrugated, foam, felt, and layered materials.

Common questions

How do I know this blade fits my machine?

The K73 is compatible with the following machine and tool combinations:

  • Zünd G3, S3, and D3 systems equipped with compatible VCT tooling
  • Zünd T75 with the V-cut insert
  • Summa F Series systems equipped with a compatible V-Cut tool
  • Kongsberg XP and C Series systems equipped with compatible V-cut or V-notch tooling

If your machine currently uses the Zünd Z73 (5005572) or Summa 500-9825, the K73 is a direct replacement.

Machine model alone does not guarantee compatibility. Confirm that your machine is equipped with the correct V-cut tool and holder. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering and we will help verify your setup.

What materials does it cut?

The K73 is suitable for V-cutting:

  • B-flute corrugated
  • C-flute corrugated
  • E-flute corrugated
  • F-flute corrugated
  • BC-flute corrugated
  • Corrugated board
  • Corrugated plastic
  • Cardboard
  • Cardstock
  • Matboard
  • DISPA®
  • FOME-COR®
  • Foamboard
  • Insite® foamboard
  • Falconboard®
  • Re-board®
  • Sandwich board
  • Zanita Board®
  • F-Sorb®
  • PET felt
  • Zintra® felt
  • PET acoustic felt
  • Polyester acoustic board
  • EVA foam
  • Neoprene
  • Foam
  • Cork

Material density and construction can vary between manufacturers. Test the blade speed, cutting depth, tool angle, and pressure before beginning a production run.

What are the blade specifications?

  • Blade material: High-speed steel, HSS
  • Knife type: Flat-stock trapezoid V-cut blade
  • Zünd cross-reference: Z73, 5005572
  • Summa cross-reference: 500-9825
  • Blade thickness: 0.9 mm
  • Maximum cutting depth: Up to 18.2 mm, depending on the tool, cutting angle, and machine configuration
  • Compatible brands: Zünd, Summa, and Kongsberg

How do I know when to replace the blade?

Watch the quality of the groove and beveled edge. Replace the blade when the material begins tearing instead of cutting cleanly, the V-groove becomes inconsistent, the beveled surface develops rough edges, or the machine requires more pressure to complete the cut.

Blade wear usually appears in the cut quality before the blade stops cutting completely.

Getting the most from your cutting table

A fresh blade is a good start, but blade condition is only one part of producing a clean V-cut. Cutting depth, tool angle, speed, pressure, material support, and machine condition all affect the finished edge and blade life.

If your V-cuts are inconsistent, verify that the cutting depth and angle are correct for the material, the blade is properly seated, and the machine is properly maintained.
