Direct OEM replacement
The Rd745 replaces the Esko BIT-MCS06-6022-64 (G42458786). It has a 0.236 in (6.0 mm) shank, 0.236 in (6.0 mm) cutting diameter, 0.866 in (22.0 mm) cutting length, and 2.520 in (64.0 mm) overall length. If your table runs that Esko part now, the Rd745 drops straight in. Not sure? Contact us before you order.
Clean on both faces
A compression bit cuts upward at the tip and downward above it. The two spirals push toward the middle of the sheet, so neither the top nor the bottom face lifts or chips. That makes it the bit for laminated and double-sided panels, pre-finished board, and sheet with a printed or coated face.
Common questions
How do I know this fits my machine?
The Rd745 replaces the Esko BIT-MCS06-6022-64, also listed as G42458786, and has a 0.236 in (6.0 mm) shank. If your Esko or Kongsberg table takes that part, the Rd745 fits. Not sure? Send us your machine model and we will confirm before you order.
How do I know when to replace it?
Watch both faces of the cut. Chipping or fuzz on the top or bottom edge where it used to cut clean, or burning in the kerf, means it is time for a fresh bit.
Getting the most from your cutting table
A fresh bit is a good start. But if you are going through bits faster than expected, or edge quality has become inconsistent, the bit is rarely the whole story. Spindle speed, feed rate, depth per pass, material hold-down, and machine condition all affect how long a bit lasts and how clean it cuts.
It is worth asking: When was your machine last serviced? Are your parameters dialed in for this material? Is this the right bit for what you are cutting? Could your operators use time with someone who runs these machines every day?
Flatbed Tools offers machine service, preventive maintenance, operator training, and workflow consulting. If something is not cutting right, reach out. We have probably seen it before.
