Direct OEM replacement

The Rs211a replaces the Zund R211-A (5213153). It has a 0.236 in (6.0 mm) shank, 0.394 in (10.0 mm) cutting diameter, 0.157 in (4.0 mm) radius, and 1.969 in (50.0 mm) overall length, with the stop ring the ARC bit changer needs to set depth. If your router runs the R211-A now, the Rs211a drops straight in. Not sure? Contact us before you order.

What a radius bit does

A radius bit rounds over the edge of the part instead of leaving a sharp 90 degree corner. The Rs211a cuts a 0.157 in (4.0 mm) radius, which softens edges on signs, displays, and panels so they look finished and are safer to handle.

Built for the ARC bit changer

This is the A-version. The stop ring sets the bit's depth in the collet, so the RM-A QC ARC automatic bit changer loads it at the same height every time. If your router does not have ARC, you need the standard version without the stop ring.

Common questions

How do I know this fits my machine?

The Rs211a fits the Zund RM-A QC ARC router with the automatic bit changer and replaces the Zund R211-A. It has a 0.236 in (6.0 mm) shank. For the RM-L, RM-A, RM-A QC, RM-S, or R45-s, use the standard R211 version. Not sure which router you have? Contact us before ordering and we will confirm.

What speeds and feeds should I run?

Maximum spindle speed is 50,000 RPM. The right feed rate depends on the material, thickness, and your machine. If you need help dialing in settings, contact us. We run these machines every day.

How do I know when to replace it?

Watch the rounded edge. Chatter marks, a rough or burned radius, or a profile that no longer looks smooth and even all mean it is time for a fresh bit.

Getting the most from your cutting table

A fresh bit is a good start. But if you are going through bits faster than expected, or edge quality has become inconsistent, the bit is rarely the whole story. Spindle speed, feed rate, depth per pass, material hold-down, and machine condition all affect how long a bit lasts and how clean it cuts.

It is worth asking: When was your machine last serviced? Are your parameters dialed in for this material? Is this the right bit for what you are cutting? Could your operators use time with someone who runs these machines every day?

Flatbed Tools offers machine service, preventive maintenance, operator training, and workflow consulting. If something is not cutting right, reach out. We have probably seen it before.
